A while ago, I asked Artiden Friends for what movie soundtracks I should play, and someone suggested Interstellar, so I picked it up. Hans Zimmer piano solos almost always sound ethereal. The Interstellar theme builds up to a proper climax in the middle, and of course a buildup is a requirement for any piece that I fall in love with.
Here, I am using the MIDI input from the keyboard so I am still getting used to the touch. Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing your performance of First Step from Interstellar, it may well be my favourite movie soundtrack of all time! I started learning it once but then gave up. You’ve just inspired me to return to it! :D
Keep going! You can do it :)
Really lovely Grace:). What version of the sheet music did u use? Also keep wondering didn’t they also use an organ in the movie?
That’s a really great question about the organ, and I wonder too, as I didn’t see the movie! But the soundtrack files feature a piano, so I’d imagine somewhere in the movie they also played a piano version. Re: the sheet music, I can’t remember how I found it, but my sheets say “interstellar main theme.” It doesn’t say who arranged it, but it says Hans Zimmer, and it’s in B major/G minor.
I loved this performance. Although I saw the film, I was not familiar with the soundtrack. I went searching for the sheet music after seeing your performance. I downloaded a couple of digital samples to try. My hat is off to you. This is not as easy to play as it might seem. Thanks for setting the example and giving me a new piece to work on. After looking at some A minor versions, I think the one most like your performance is in E major and I think that is the one I shall purchase.
Thanks for the kind words! I think the version I’m playing is not an official reendition, but I love it anyways. Have fun!
Edit: I just looked at my sheets and they’re in B major/G minor, but I’m sure your version will sound lovely nonetheless.
You have SUCH a beautiful touch, and your wrist moment is stunning. I am inspired!
Thanks so much, Mara! You are so kind!
