It’s the season of love!
This would be a good time for someone to declare love for me or push me out a window. Maybe I’ll watch Netflix and chill with ice cream on Valentine’s Day and invite Megz over for Lord of the Rings.
My friend Matthew approves of this and sends me a bunch of love songs for the piano.
“They’re from the past 5 decades,” he says.
“Do you mean the past 5 years?” I say.
“Uh, no? Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love is from 1961.”
Perfect. That’s exactly how long I’ve been thinking about my loveless life.

This is a nice, simple arrangement of the classic song by Elvis Presley.

5. Celine Dion – My Heart Will Go On
This used to be my favourite song! I stayed up playing this on my electric piano (you know the little screen that’s supposed to teach you to play a piece?), and I had at least two versions of the sheet music.
6. Jonathan Larson. – Seasons of Love (Rent)
I like this song a lot. It would be cute to belt this out a capella, to your girlfriend in the 4.7 star restaurant. (Because 5 star is for the proposal)

9. Maroon 5 – Love Somebody
Although Maroon 5 is known for singing about Maps and Animals, they still compose catchy melodies. So I don’t care what anyone else thinks, Maroon 5 is great and I’d listen to songs you can hum to (as opposed to shout to–Imagine Dragons), anyday.

Nice selections that I bookmarked for next year, perhaps. I often enjoy playing an impromptu Valentine’s Day program in my apartment building, but this year the piano has been temporarily removed due to construction work.
Perhaps you could start an annual event called Rosie’s Valentine Concert where people can throw rose petals at you while you play. :)
